On November 15, the VII Forum of Foreign Capital Companies of Castilla La-Mancha took place. On this occasion, the event took place in the spectacular test track that the Finnish company Nokian Tyres has built in the town of Santa Cruz de la Zarza, Toledo. <\/p>\n
This 7th edition of the Business Forum brought together more than 60 participants who took part in a very interesting day with presentations related to the challenges facing our region.<\/p>\n
The meeting was led by the Director of IPEX, Luis No\u00e9<\/strong>, and inaugurated by the Minister of Economy, Business and Employment of Castilla-La Mancha, Patricia Franco<\/strong>, who highlighted the importance of foreign direct investment for the development of the region. The Minister remarked that “the attraction of foreign investment projects has doubled in the region in the current legislature” and highlighted that “international investment in Castilla-La Mancha is almost 250 percent above 2015 levels”. Since 2015, in addition, “the foreign opening of our economy has grown by 7.5 points and we are progressing at record pace in exports in the region,” he recalled, noting that in this internationalization have much to do international capital companies, “because they account for a third of our total exports.” <\/p>\n Then it was the turn of Daniel Rodriguez<\/strong>, Director of the Nokian Tyres<\/strong> test center and host of the day, who showed the attendees the main features of the circuits as well as the process for the project to become a reality, with the help of IPEX and relying on the figure of the Project of Singular Interest.<\/p>\n After his speech, the Director General of Companies of the regional government, Javier Rosell<\/strong>, presented and analyzed the results of the VII Business Climate Barometer in Castilla-La Mancha<\/strong>, which on this occasion counted with the participation of 43 companies with foreign capital. Among the data to be highlighted, 8 out of 10 companies surveyed expect to consolidate or increase their business during 2022, and almost all of them (98%) expect to maintain or increase their employment levels in 2023. In addition, the companies are committed to our region in the long term, as three out of four of those surveyed have investment plans to increase their production capacity or to modernize their facilities. <\/p>\n The central theme of the Forum was the shortening of value chains<\/strong> and their positive impact on the territory. To go into more depth and learn about the opportunities that the region could have in this area, Luc\u00eda Garc\u00eda Callealta<\/strong>, from the consulting firm LHH<\/strong>, gave a presentation based on the current ecosystem of Castilla-La Mancha, and unpacking the opportunities that could be generated in current industries, strategic sectors and cross-cutting sectors. <\/p>\n To conclude the day, a round table discussion<\/strong> was held under the title “Ecosystem of the regional industry, opportunities for shortening value chains<\/strong>“, moderated by the General Manager of Companies, Javier Rosell. Rafael Merinero<\/strong>, Managing Director of Witzenmann Espa\u00f1ola S.A., Pablo de Castro, founder and Director of Life for Tyres S.L., <\/strong>and Pedro Casablanca<\/strong>, Operations Director of Pernod Ricard Espa\u00f1a S.A.<\/strong>, took part in an interesting debate on how the current geopolitical situation is affecting value chains, giving first-hand accounts of the decisions they are taking in their respective companies to deal with this context. <\/p>\n After the round table, all attendees had the opportunity to chat in a more relaxed manner about the topics discussed during the day, thus promoting networking<\/em> among participants, which is one of the main objectives of this annual business forum.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" On November 15, the VII Forum of Foreign Capital Companies of Castilla La-Mancha took place.
