Castilla-La Mancha reinforces its position as a logistics epicenter at SIL Barcelona 2026

The Institute for the Foreign Promotion of Castilla-La Mancha (IPEX) participated in SIL Barcelona 2026, the International Logistics Exhibition, held from June 3 to 5 at the Montjuïc – Fira de Barcelona exhibition center. Considered one of the main international meetings of the logistics, transport and supply chain sector, the event brought together leading companies, institutions and professionals to analyze the trends that are transforming global logistics.

The presence of IPEX at SIL Barcelona 2026 reinforced the positioning of Castilla-La Mancha as one of the most dynamic and attractive territories for the development of logistics and industrial projects in Spain. During the meeting, the investment attraction team maintained contacts with companies and agents of the sector interested in learning about the competitive advantages offered by the region for the implementation of new business activities.

Castilla-La Mancha’s participation in SIL came at a particularly positive time for the regional logistics sector. According to data recently presented by the Spanish Logistics and Transport Business Organization (UNO), logistics already represents 10% of the GDP of Castilla-La Mancha and generates around 56,000 Social Security affiliates, placing the region among the top five autonomous communities in logistics employment. Likewise, the community has around 9,700 companies linked to transport and storage and has eight strategic logistics hubs connected to the main corridors in the center and south of Spain.

These indicators reflect the strength of an ecosystem that continues to attract national and international investment thanks to factors such as its strategic location, the availability of industrial and logistics land, its transport infrastructure and the collaboration between administrations and the business fabric.

During the three days of the fair, SIL Barcelona once again became a reference space for innovation, digitalization and sustainability in the supply chain, offering participants an excellent opportunity to generate contacts, identify new trends and explore opportunities for international collaboration.

IPEX’s participation in SIL Barcelona 2026 is part of the international promotion strategy of Castilla-La Mancha as a destination for investment and business development. Through its presence at trade fairs and specialized events, the Institute continues to work to give visibility to the region’s capabilities and facilitate the arrival of new projects that contribute to economic growth and job creation.

IPEX would like to thank all the companies, institutions and professionals who visited the Castilla-La Mancha space during the event and showed interest in learning about the opportunities that the region offers to the logistics sector and international investment.
