The past month of July it held an institutional ceremony to reopen the Refinish Competence Center at the BASF Española facilities in Marchamalo (Guadalajara). This training center is dedicated to training repair shop technicians, distributors and major car brands, all BASF customers in Spain and Portugal, through its renowned premium brands Glasurit and R-M. In addition, it hosts numerous events aimed at promoting the training of young professionals of the future, through initiatives such as the R-M Best Painter Contest or as the headquarters of Castilla-La Mancha Skills, as well as the training of Professional Training teachers through the FORTECO course program.

Since the start of this year, the Marchamalo work center has invested around 2.5 million euros in renovating the installation to offer a cutting-edge technological experience. Innovation and

The official opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Business and Employment Economics of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha. Patricia Franco Jiménez, as well as the Mayor of Marchamalo, Rafael Esteban Santamaría, among other Institutional representatives. The production center in Marchamalo (Guadalajara), is the headquarters of the Coatings division in Spain. It has been a BASF production center since 1982, although the origins of the company date back to 1867. With an area of 310,000 m2 and approximately 650 employees, the center has four modern production plants, two of which are painting plants, one is for the production of intermediate resins and the other belongs to the construction business. In addition to the renewed training center, the facilities include an application center for automotive coatings, as well as control and development laboratories for all its main product segments.
Among the products manufactured in Guadalajara we find high-tech coatings for the automobile industry with a high technological demand, various acrylics, electrodeposition binders, thix-acrylics, polyesters and other specific resins for intermediate use and construction paints, and glue protection putties and sealants for tunnel drilling machines.
