Toledo, April 16th 2024 – The Regional Minister of Economy, Business and Employment of Castilla-La Mancha, Patricia Franco, inaugurated yesterday the VIII Forum of Foreign Capital Companies in the region, highlighting the confidence and reinvestment intentions of international companies in the region. The event took place in Madrid and was attended by more than 150 representatives of companies, multipliers, investment funds and public agencies with international character, thus generating a great opportunity to promote networking among all attendees.
Patricia Franco took the opportunity to highlight the region’s role in attracting investment in greenfield projects, with 39 projects announced in 2023, which will generate more than 5,000 new jobs. In 2023, international investment in Castilla-La Mancha reached 292 million euros, the third highest figure in the region’s history. Sectors such as automotive and energy showed significant growth, with countries such as Germany, Italy and Norway leading investments.
“Castilla-La Mancha has established itself as a premium investment destination thanks to the confidence, stability and certainty we offer. The region has attracted 264 international investment projects since 2015, generating more than 58,000 jobs”.
For his part, Javier Rosell, General Director of Companies at the Regional Ministry of Economy, Business and Employment of Castilla-La Mancha, presented the data from the VIII Business Climate Barometer of Castilla-La Mancha, highlighting that 88% of foreign-owned companies in the region plan to maintain or expand their level of employment, and four out of every five companies plan to reinvest.
Javier Rosell closed his speech by detailing the lines of action of the new Plan Adelante 2024-2027, endowed with more than 400 million euros. The actions that make up this plan are based on six strategic axes based on key aspects such as the development of talent, digitalization and sustainability. This plan is materialized with more than 50 measures that serve to structure the economic and social development of the region.
Finally, the Forum included a round table moderated by journalist Eduardo Castillo and with the participation of Carmen Díaz, CEO of Holcim España; Ángel Higueras, Country Manager of Ecu Global Recycling; Flavio Tejada, Strategic Advisory and Design Director of ARUP; and Jesús Rubiera, Deputy Director of Economic Information, Strategy and Business Climate of ICEX-Invest in Spain. A lively debate in which the competitive advantages of investing in Castilla-La Mancha were presented and which gave a glimpse of the key reasons why these and other companies decide to invest in the region.
