Madrid, May 28th 2025 – Castilla-La Mancha has once again positioned itself as a strategic destination for foreign investment during the IX Forum of Foreign Capital Companies, held on Wednesday at the Espacio Castellana 81 in Madrid. The event, organized by the Institute for the Foreign Promotion of Castilla-La Mancha (IPEX), brought together institutional representatives and executives from leading international companies with a presence in the region.
The Forum, driven by Paloma Sánchez Garrido, Director of IPEX, was inaugurated by the Regional Minister of Economy, Business and Employment of Castilla-La Mancha, Patricia Franco Jiménez, who underlined the key role of the region in the new international economic context. In her speech, she highlighted aspects such as legal security, logistic infrastructures and institutional commitment, considered fundamental pillars for attracting foreign investment.
Next, Ángel Saz-Carranza, Director of EsadeGeo, Centre for Global Economy and Geopolitics and Professor of Strategy and Politics at Esade, gave a lecture on trade relations in the global economic context. In it, he analyzed the challenges and opportunities faced by companies in an environment marked by geopolitical uncertainty and industrial transformation.
One of the highlights of the day was the round table entitled “Investment and reinvestment projects in Castilla-La Mancha in the current geopolitical situation”, moderated by Javier Rosell, General Director of Companies of the Ministry of Economy, Business and Employment. Sonia Morcillo, Public Affairs Manager of Airbus Spain; Helmut Schaeidt Murga, CEO of Morchem; and Hans Paul Thyssen, CFO of Sumitomo participated in this space.
During the round table, participants shared their experiences and concerns about the future of the region in today’s business landscape. The potential of Castilla-La Mancha in the aerospace supply chain was highlighted, as well as the dynamism of the regional industrial ecosystem and the innovation projects underway. Finally, the three speakers reaffirmed their commitment to Castilla-La Mancha, emphasizing the need for stability and the long-term growth potential offered by the autonomous community.
The forum was closed by María Amparo López Senovilla, Secretary of State for Trade of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise, who reiterated the Spanish Government’s commitment to attracting and consolidating foreign investment in territories such as Castilla-La Mancha.
The day concluded with a networking session that strengthened the links between the business and institutional fabric, thus favoring an environment conducive to international investment.
