IPEX participates for the first time in the International Logistics Exhibition (SIL) in Barcelona

The Institute for the Foreign Promotion of Castilla-La Mancha (IPEX) exhibited for the first time in SIL Barcelona 2025, the International Logistics Exhibition, which was held from 18 to 20 June 2025 at the Montjuïc – Fira de Barcelona exhibition centre.  Throughout its 26 years, this event has established itself as one of the main international platforms for the logistics, transport, intralogistics and supply chain sectors, especially in Europe and the Mediterranean region.

In this edition, SIL Barcelona 2025 brought together more than 650 exhibiting companies from all over the world, attracting more than 20,000 professionals from the sector. In previous years, nearly 16,000 attendees from 93 countries participated and more than 150 activities were held for companies. The fair provided a privileged environment for the exchange of knowledge, the presentation of innovative solutions and the development of strategic business relationships.

Every year, SIL Barcelona manages to comprehensively represent the entire logistics chain, consolidating itself as an essential meeting point for the sector. In this edition, professionals from key areas such as Technology and IT, Intralogistics, Transport, Logistics and Distribution, Infrastructures, eCommerce, Industry 4.0, Energy and Sustainability, as well as the Real Estate sector took part. This diversity ensured a comprehensive view of today’s logistics ecosystem. Not surprisingly, 83% of participants said they had met their participation targets in previous editions, reflecting the effectiveness and strategic value of the event.

In this context, the participation of IPEX took on special relevance, as it represented an opportunity to showcase the competitive advantages and investment potential of Castilla-La Mancha in a key sector such as logistics. The regional representation was headed by the Regional Minister of Economy, Business and Employment, Patricia Franco, who had the opportunity to participate in a conference entitled ‘Innovating Business Models for Internationalisation’. In addition to the Regional Minister, the Director General of Companies, Javier Rosell, and the Director of IPEX, Paloma Sánchez, were also present, accompanying the investment attraction team.

One of the main attractions of SIL is its strong focus on innovation and digitalisation of the supply chain. Under the slogan ‘Connecting Worlds To Drive Innovation’, the event presented more than 150 technological innovations, including IoT solutions, automation, robotics, micro-fulfilment, and sustainable mobility. It also featured an intense agenda of activities including SIL Knowledge, a programme with more than 300 international speakers who addressed interesting topics such as industry trends.

One of the most cutting-edge areas at SIL Barcelona 2025 is the Digital Supply Chain Exhibition, a space that accurately recreates the workings of a digital supply chain. This area allowed participating companies to showcase their most innovative solutions in automation, robotics, artificial intelligence and other technologies applied to the logistics sector. During the days of the show, live demonstrations provided visitors with an immersive experience to understand the challenges and opportunities of logistics digitisation.

The fair also offered multiple networking tools such as the Job Market Place for the promotion of talent, B2B agendas and the SILPlatform digital platform, designed to facilitate contact between exhibitors and visitors, optimising business opportunities before, during and after the event. By the 2024 edition, more than 5,500 face-to-face contacts had already been generated, effectively connecting supply and demand.

IPEX’s participation in SIL Barcelona 2025 is part of its overall strategy for the international promotion of Castilla-La Mancha as an attractive investment destination. This strategy also includes attendance at international trade fairs, the organisation of business missions and cooperation with economic promotion networks.

In short, SIL Barcelona 2025 represented a unique opportunity to position Castilla-La Mancha at the heart of the international logistics ecosystem. IPEX would like to thank all the people who visited our stand and showed interest in finding out what Castilla-La Mancha has to offer to investors and companies in the sector.
