Barcelona, 6 June 2024.

The International Logistics Exhibition -SIL-, held a new edition at the Fira de Barcelona on 5, 6 and 7 June. SIL is one of the main trade exhibitions in the logistics, transport, intralogistics and supply chain sector at national level. The 2024 edition focused on innovation and digitalisation, serving as a showcase for the latest technological solutions applied to logistics. During the three days of the event, the 650 participating companies presented 176 world-exclusive innovations. It was also attended by 120 startups, the largest participation of emerging companies in the history of the exhibition, which had the opportunity to present their most disruptive ideas.

The Foreign Trade and Investment Institute of Castilla-La Mancha, through the manager of its investment attraction department, Carmelo Corral, has had the opportunity to present the opportunities for logistics land available in the region at this exhibition.

This presentation took place at the stand of SEPES, Entidad Pública Empresarial de Suelo, which as the main public land operator in Spain has 27 programmed developments throughout the country, 41 developments in reserve and 24 million square metres in its portfolio. In the case of Castilla-La Mancha, 14 actions are being marketed, spread over the five provinces, with nearly 1,250,000 m² of land in the pipeline. Highlights include the “Entrecaminos” development in Valdepeñas, “Pedro Muñoz Industrial” in Pedro Muñoz and “Pozo Hondo Ampliación” in Campo de Criptana. Also noteworthy are the nearly 300 hectares under development, including the “Oretania” project in Ciudad Real and “Henares 2ª Ampliación” in Marchamalo, in the heart of the Corredor del Henares.

IPEX, together with SEPES, has announced the land available in each of these industrial parks. All of them are presented as a business and logistical opportunity of the first order for Castilla-La Mancha.

During the presentation, SEPES has highlighted the close collaboration it has with the administrations of Castilla-La Mancha, with examples of success in attracting singular projects on SEPES land, even at an international level, as well as in the development of residential developments such as the case of Aguas Vivas, in Guadalajara.

The logistics sector is of great importance to the economy of Castilla-La Mancha, employing more than 50,000 people and generating 40% of turnover, investment in assets and salaries in the region’s service sector. The strategic location in the centre of the peninsula, as well as extraordinary communication infrastructures, have made it possible for several of the world’s leading logistics operators to bet on Castilla-La Mancha.
