The Regional Government, via IPEX, takes advantage of Genera’s bet on sustainability, innovation, and business to promote Castile-La Mancha as a destination for growth and investment for the energy sector.

Madrid, February 6, 2020 – The Regional Government of Castile-La Mancha, via IPEX, the Institute of Foreign Promotion, is attending the Energy and Environment International Trade Fair (Genera) held in Madrid from the 5th to the 7th of February to demonstrate its commitment to renewable energies and to show the opportunities it offers for growth and investment for the energy sector.
As part of its bet on incentivizing sustainability and a circular economy, the Regional Government will take advantage of the international nature of the fair – attended by over 240 business and 15,000 visitors – to hold meetings with businesses and both national and international investors interested in growing in Spain.
Guided by the motto “Integrating energies for a sustainable future” and by three fundamental strategic principles – Sustainability, Innovation, and Business – this new edition of Genera shows its commitment to the industrial sectors of renewable energies, their distribution, energy efficiency, and its primary applications, such as storage, self-consumption, and mobility.
These principles coincide with the commitment adopted by the Regional Government years ago as part of its initiative to bolster renewable energies and environmental innovation. A clear example of this commitment is the presence of the National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Testing Centre and the Institute for Concentration Photovoltaics Systems, as well as the development of clean energy production: Castile-La Mancha ranks fourth out of all regions in its number of wind farms (139), and comes in first for its production of GWh of photovoltaic and solar thermal energy.
From a business standpoint, the number of energy companies present in Castile-La Mancha has been growing in recent years, thanks to the attractive investment opportunities offered by the region, such as various economic and fiscal incentives. One of the goals for IPEX’s attendance at Genera will be to meet with a selection of companies (Alsoenergy, Cogen, Esdec, Eternity Technologies, Hanwha Q Cells, Jiangsu Goodwe Power Supply Technology, Meterboost, and Mounting Systems) in order to present Castile-La Mancha as a premium investment destination and explain the region’s opportunities and trends.
