On the 7th and 8th of September, IPEX took part in MIPIM – the world’s largest real-estate trade show.

To mark our return to normality with in-person events, Castilla-La Mancha has chosen the leading international real-estate trade show – held in Cannes, with a host of strict safety measures in place, after a year on hiatus as a result of the global pandemic.

During these two days, 42,000 delegates from 26 different countries and more than 400 investment companies came to take part in the events.

“We have noted a huge desire and interest from attendees to return to in-person events. Attending a fair of this size proves the regional government’s clear interest in attracting foreign investment. Every euro invested exponentially multiplies the power of its investment across the region, creating jobs, new business practices and the development of a direct auxiliary ecosystem” explains Luis Noé, director of the Castilla-La Mancha Foreign Trade Institute (IPEX).

Over the course of the two days, the foreign investment attraction department has held meetings with various potential investors and interested funds. Furthermore, contact has been established with similar promotional bodies, sharing common goals.

Among the potential opportunities detected, the logistics real-estate sector continues to represent a significant area of interest. “The search for available land remains unstoppable, partly due to the rise of e-commerce”, Noé highlights. Likewise, industrial activities and the residential sector for the elderly have become hugely attractive: “Investors’ interest in the residential sector has reached significant levels, as demonstrated in the various meetings we have held” ensures Luis Noé.

On the other hand, there has been a clear interest in the tourism sector: “the search for quality assets and new destinations is undoubtedly returning”,  concludes the IPEX Director.

The IPEX stand was located in Hall 3, together with other participating Spanish regions, as well as delegations from other areas of Western Europe, such as Italy or France.
